DFS considerations for Eddie Wineland vs. Sean O’Malley

Is there DFS value in the bantamweight battle at UFC 250 between Eddie Wineland vs. Sean O’Malley? We take a look at the DFS considerations.

An undefeated up-and-comer in Sean O’Malley faces veteran Eddie Wineland in a bantamweight bout at UFC 250. But should either of them be on your DFS roster ahead of the card?

DraftKings DFS Values

Eddie Wineland: $6,900
Sean O’Malley: $9,300

Wineland is the second-cheapest fighter on the card, and a +360 underdog on the money line. He’s 24-13-1 in his MMA career, and his 3-4 in his last seven fights. He gives out 3.21 significant strikes per minute in his UFC career, but does have 19 stoppages in his career, including his last four victories.

O’Malley might be the next star in a wide-open division, but his numbers justify him being the second-priciest fighter on the card behind Amanda Nunes. He lands 6.8 significant strikes per minute, 1.5 takedowns per 15 minutes, but all that pales to the eight stoppages he has in his 11-0 career, with eight of those early endings happening in the first round.

If you can find a path for Wineland to score a stoppage, he’d be one of the best values on the card. He’s a veteran that can strike as 15 of his wins are via TKO/KO, but he’d need to catch O’Malley wide open with a punch.

If you think Wineland can win, he should absolutely be in your roster. Otherwise one of your bigger buys should be O’Malley as if he wins, he likely does so early and with authority.
