Best lineup strategy for Korean baseball DFS on June 5th

DraftKings has a five-game KBO slate for Friday morning, and we break down some ideal picks for Monday at each position below. You can set your lineup here.

Pitcher: Mike Wright, NC Dinos ($9,100)

Wright is the clear favorite among pitchers in this slate. He’s yet to dip below double-digits in fantasy points and is up against a team that’s struggling at the plate. The Dinos have given up the fewest runs in the KBO while the Eagles have scored the fewest.

Catcher: Dong Won Park, Kiwoom Heroes ($4,200)

Although Eui Ji Yang ($6,000) tallied 24 DKFP in his last outing, it’s hard to justify paying up for him. Park tallied 14 DKFP Thursday and has been more consistent. I’d opt for him in most cases unless Yang starts going on a ridiculous tear.

First Base: Jamie Romak, SK Wyverns ($5,700)

Romak is a little pricey given his limited production this year, but has eclipsed 20 DKFP in two of his last three contests. He’ll be up against a pitcher who’s tallied seven walks and seven strikeouts this year. He’s been doing a good job getting on base with walks and could score some runs if his teammates capitalize on the Lions’ weak pitching rotation.

Second Base: Min Woo Park, NC Dinos ($4,800)

Park rarely strikes out batting leadoff and will be up against a pitcher who’s given up 21 runs in 24 ²⁄₃ innings. A cheaper option to consider is Keon Chang Seo of the Kiwoom Heroes, who also bats leadoff and has showcased better power hitting.

Shortstop: Ha Seong Kim, Kiwoom Heroes ($6,000)

Kim has cracked double-digits in fantasy points in four of his last five games. He and Woo Jun Sim ($3,300) are the only options at shortstop averaging more than eight DKFP per game. If you find yourself with salary to spare, pay up for Kim. If you’re tight on funds, don’t stress over trying to squeeze him in.

Third Base: Jeong Choi, SK Wyverns ($4,800)

Choi dropped below 10 DKFP for the first time in six games Thursday and is starting to build some consistency. I like riding his momentum against a pitcher who hasn’t reached double-digits in fantasy points once this season.

Outfield: Ah Seop Son, Lotte Giants ($3,800)

Son is one of the Giants’ more capable hitters and Min Soo Kim has tallied negative fantasy points six times this season. He’s a cheap option going against the worst starter in the slate and could be one of the best variance plays in the slate.

Outfield: Aaron Altherr, NC Dinos ($4,900)

Altherr has consistently been priced at $5,000 or higher but has now dropped below that mark for a second straight contest. The opposing pitcher lets a ton of batters on base, so Altherr could rack up RBIs with his power.
