Manchester City midfielder Leroy Sane is coming home. Bayern Munich has agreed to a transfer fee of £54.8 million for the 24-year old winger, according to Sky Sports News. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola announced that Sane rejected a contract extension in June, so it’s not surprising to see him moving on so soon.
Sane scored 25 English Premier League over the course of 90 appearances with Man City. He won two titles during that span, but has fallen by the wayside since tearing his ACL in August. He’s only appeared in one game this season as a sub but should play a larger role for the 2020 Bundesliga champs next year.
San scored 11 goals for FC Schalke in the Bundesliga between 2014 and 2016 before joining city. While he’ll join a Bayern Munich team that features Robert Lewandoski, who led the Bundesliga in scoring with 34 goals this season, he should provide more offensive firepower for one of the most offensively gifted teams in German soccer.
