The PGA Tour wrapped up the Travelers Championship and now heads to the Motor City for the Rocket Mortgage Classic. The tournament gets underway Thursday morning at Detroit Golf Club, on a course designed for the big hitters. It is the fourth tournament since the Tour restarted its 2019-2020 season, and we’re back with more daily fantasy golf.
DraftKings posted prices for its Millionaire contest, and we get our first tournament of the restart without Rory McIlroy in the field. He won’t be in Detroit, but there are still a host of big names to consider for your golf lineups. McIlroy bounced back last week after a slow start to the restart, finishing 11th. We’ll see if that’s the start of a turnaround when he returns to the field.
Bryson DeChambeau is the highest priced golfer this week, sitting at $11,700. The course is designed for the long ball players, and DeChambeau is impressing in that regard. He beefed up over the past nine months, and it’s showing in his distance.
Defending champion Nate Lashley comes in at $6,600. He dominated a year ago, winning by six strokes after putting up best round twice heading into Sunday. He’s been in a tailspin this season. He tied for third at the Waste Management Phoenix Open in late January, but has missed the cut in five straight tournaments since — including the Charles Schwab Challenge and RBC Heritage following the season re-start.
Doc Redman will be a popular pick this week at $8,500. He’s not cheap, but he’s trending in the right direction. Since the season restarted, he tied for 78th at the Charles Schwab, then tied for 21st at the RBC, and then tied for 11th last week at the Travelers. A year ago, he finished second in Detroit and the year prior he tied for 32nd. He’s got experience on the course, and his even-keeled performance last year (68-67-67-67) suggests he’s got a strong floor.
