Captain’s Pick
De’Aaron Fox ($16,200)
We got two middling teams in this Showdown contest, so not many great options at Captain. So I’ll play it safe and pay up for Fox knowing that we should get a few really good value plays on both sides. Fox has the best ceiling in the contest outside of maybe Devonte’ Graham.
Fade of the Game
Miles Bridges ($7,000)
There are going to be a lot of players who are overpriced in this contest. It’s mostly because there has to be some sort of hierarchy to the pricing and Bridges is just too expensive for the type of ceiling he has. Bridges isn’t going to double-double ever and his upside is basically linked to his scoring.
Value Picks
Cory Joseph ($4,600) — Joseph has started 22 games filling in for Fox this season. He’s also appeared in 64 games this season, so we’ve got a lot of boxes to work with here. The good thing is, roughly a third of those boxes are in starts, so at this price, we have a really safe play.
Bismack Biyombo ($3,800) — There aren’t many notable big men in this contest, so I think we should structure our lineup accordingly. That means, stacking up on the top guards — Fox, Buddy Hield, Graham, Terry Rozier — so we can pay down at forward and center. Biyombo has a safe floor with his rebounding numbers.
