Shortstop rankings for 2020 fantasy baseball

Major League Baseball will return for a 60-game season and we’re here with our 2020 fantasy baseball shortstop rankings to help you prepare.

Welcome to the 2020 MLB season! It’s here? Well, a version of baseball is hopefully here for 60 regular season games. There’s still a month to go until the first games are played which is plenty of time for the earth to be taken over by the Fried Bologna Bros of Breakfast Island. But, we will continue to act like baseball and more importantly, fantasy baseball will happen.

A 60 game season with players possibly missing time due to being quarantined, could be a huge dumpster barge fire. But here at DraftKings Nation, we are the positive, happy people! Let’s do this thing!

Trevor Story is the prize at shortstop but there is a nice contingency of great options to choose from in the Top-2 rounds. And since I rather piece my pitchers together later in the draft and off the waiver wire, going after one of those options is very much in the cards.

But, with shortstop being so deep, you can get away with grabbing one of the Top-20 options and still feeling like you are strong at the position. And with that depth, shortstop is a likely contender for your middle infielder slot as well.

Letting shortstop come to you in the draft should work out. I really like Story this season, but I’m not going to stress not getting him, as you’ll have plenty of opportunities for a good pick.
