The New England Patriots and Washington will face off in a Madden sim Sunday at 6:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.
Captain’s Pick
James White ($12,600)
Last I checked White was struggling a bit in these simulations. He had been one of the most consistent options on the Patriots, taking command of the backfield. White is still a great floor play and in this matchup, should get every opportunity to go for 20+ DKFP again. The only argument against White — or another Patriots skill guy at Captain — is ownership.
Fade of the Game
Tom Brady ($17,100 CP)
A lot of lineups will likely stack the Patriots, and that’s fine. I still don’t think that means we need to play Brady at QB. His ceiling is OK compared to some other QBs in sim land, but really the price is too high, especially at Captain. I’d rather stack up on White, Julian Edelman, Mohamed Sanu and take things from there.
Value Picks
Paul Richardson Jr. ($6,200) — Until P-Rich is up to the $8K range in price at FLEX, I think we need to fit him in almost every sim. Richardson is still doing a really nice job as the WR1 for Washington for QB Dwayne Haskins, who has also been solid. Richardson is going to be big-time chalk, but we’re OK eating it.
Phillip Dorsett ($5,200) — Balance is probably the best way to approach this Showdown contest. So we aren’t going to spend up or down too much at any position. We have nice mid-range plays in Richardson, Trey Quinn and Dorsett, who has that nice floor/ceiling WR combo.
