How the public is betting Jordan Griffin vs. Youssef Zalal

Jordan Griffin and Youssef Zalal will fight in a bout at featherweight UFC Fight Night on ESPN tonight. We break down how the betting public is picking the fight.

Jordan Griffin was scheduled to take on Darrick Minner at UFC on ESPN 10 two weeks ago in the Apex facility in Las Vegas. Instead he’ll now face a fighter Youssef Zalal tonight in the same venue tonight at UFC on ESPN 12.

“The Native Psycho” Griffin is 18-7 but 1-2 in the UFC, earning his first win on the big stage in his last fight against T.J. Brown via guillotine choke after losing decisions to Dan Ige and Chas Skelly. 14 of his 18 career MMA victories have been by stoppage, but he doesn’t seem to be getting much respect from bettors so far.

Zalal has an 8-2 career record, winning his UFC debut over Austin Lingo at UFC 247 in February. That fight went the distance, but Zalal controlled it from the mat with six takedowns in a unanimous decision win. Five of his eight career wins have come by submission, and he’s yet to be stopped early in a fight.

Here are the betting splits at DraftKings Sportsbook when Jordan Griffn takes on Youssef Zalal at UFC on ESPN 12 tonight:

Jordan Griffin: Opened -112, now +107. 14% of handle, 33% of bets.
Youssef Zalal: Opened -112, now -134. 86% of handle, 67% of bets.
