A gatekeeper welterweight faces an younger opponent on the main card of UFC on ESPN 12 when Mike Perry takes on Mickey Gall on Saturday in Las Vegas at the promotion’s Apex facility.
DraftKings DFS Values
Mike Perry: $9,000
Mickey Gall: $7,200
Perry is a -315 favorite on the money line, while Gall is the underdog at +235.
“Platinum” Perry is 13-6 overall, but has lost his last two fights and five of his last seven, with the two wins being the only decision victories in his career. He’s got 11 KO’s in his career, but none since September of 2017. He throws 4.27 strikes per minute in the UFC, but only with 0.61 takedowns per 15 minutes.
Gall is 5-2 in the UFC, joining the promotion after just one fight on the indies. He’s got five submissions in his career, and should look to win on the mat against the striker across the ring. He only averages 2.22 strikes a minute, but has 1.50 takedowns per 15 minutes, and that’s plenty considering the amount of time he spends in the ring: His last fight, a unanimous decision win against Salim Touahri, was the first time he’s finished all three rounds in the cage.
This could be a swing fight for DFS purposes. If Perry can find his form and stop a less-experienced opponent as he’s capable of, he’s going to be a must on every roster. And if Gall can find a way to get this match on the mat against a fighter that might have his future on the line, you’ll want him for value if not a submission win. If you’re playing multiple rosters, this might be a fight you’ll want to mix in on both sides of your board.
