SHOWDOWN STRATEGY
Rams
We have two quarterbacks in this game with nearly identical fantasy outputs, the first being Jared Goff ($10,800), who is the most expensive player in this game. He has one of the safer floors for quarterbacks, despite posting just 9.5 DKFP in his last game. Overall, he has scored at least double-digits in all but two of his 28 games and is averaging 245 passing yards with 49 touchdowns thrown and seven interceptions. Goff also has thrown at least one touchdown in 27 of his 28 games, giving the type of consistent production you’re looking for when paying up for a player.
Goff has spread the ball around well, which makes him a strong captain consideration but also makes it hard to choose which receivers you should pair him with. The speedy Brandin Cooks ($7,600) has the highest speed rating in this game at 96, which is slightly higher than the WR1 on the Jags in DJ Chark. Cooks has the highest DKFP average amongst the Rams’ receivers at 13.8 but it’s only .5 higher than Robert Woods ($7,800). Cooks has seen at least four receptions in four straight games, averaging 14.4 DKFP in that span. Being the fastest player in this game could be a difference-maker. As for Woods, he’s seeing nearly equal volume to that of Cooks, averaging 4.3 receptions, 57.4 yards and 13 touchdowns scored. Both players are cheap enough that I would consider using both. Cooper Kupp ($9,800) is very expensive as the WR1 but is seeing nearly the same volume as Woods and Cooks. Kupp is averaging 4.3 receptions, 58 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. I don’t really see the advantage of paying up here for any reason other than ownership. Tyler Higbee ($7,000) is likely another fade for me. He’s been under double-digit fantasy points in eight straight games and is priced too close to Woods and Cooks to really consider. He’s averaging 3.7 receptions per game but has been seeing three or less lately.
Todd Gurley ($9,200) is one of the better RB1 that you’ll see in this game. He’ll get work on the ground and through the air, scoring 14 touchdowns rushing and three receiving. It’ll be tough trying to decide between him and Leonard Fournette, although Gurley is catching more out of the backfield than Fourette, which for me, would likely have me leaning toward Gurley if I’m choosing between the two players.

Jaguars
Gardner Minshew ($10,400) has been performing extremely well and, as mentioned, has the same DKFP output at Goff at 17.2. Goff has the advantage with more passing yards but Minshew isn’t all that far off, averaging 232 per game with 49 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Both sides boast some good coverage in their secondary, but with the ball being spread around in both offenses, they’ll be opportunities for them to succeed.
D.J. Chark ($8,200) has been struggling, as of late, which has resulted in an unusual drop in his salary. Reaching as high as $11,000, Chark is on sale for this game, representing a $800 decrease from his last time out against the Colts. He boasts some excellent speed and his 22 touchdowns are simply absurd. However, the production has not come through lately. In fact, over his last five games, Chark is averaging just 6.6 (!) DKFP. The discount is favorable, though, and if anyone can break off a massive downfield catch other than Cooks, it’s Chark. James O’Shaughnessy ($6,400) is a nice discount over Higbee and quite frankly, has been producing at a much stronger rate. He’s averaging 4.1 receptions with 10 touchdowns scored and 55.8 yards per game. I would much rather save with him and earn the volume than take a chance with Higbee, who is overpriced. Dede Westbrook ($6,200) is still overpriced as well, as he hasn’t made more than three receptions in five straight games. Add that to only seven touchdowns and he’s an easy fade for me at this salary. Marqise Lee ($4,400) is an interesting play for me in this game. We know the Rams boast some strong corners, which could lead Mishew to throw more to Lee than usual. At his salary, he’s worth taking a shot with.
As mentioned, Leonard Fournette ($7,200) is another strong RB1 in this game. He’s a lot cheaper than he should be, so he’s another strong candidate for this game. While he’s not getting nearly as many chances to catch out of the backfield as Gurley is, Fournette is averaging 79 rushing yards per game and gets heavy volume on the ground. This game is full of mid-tier options and allows you to make a balanced lineup.
THE OUTCOME
The quarterbacks are always obvious choices to use at captain, which, if you are, I’d recommended stacking multiple receivers with. If you’re looking to get some lower ownership on a player, someone like Brandin Cooks ($11,400 CP), who has the best speed in this game is very enticing. James O’Shaughnessy ($9,600 CP) is interesting as well, especially if he receives some good volume from Minshew.
Final Score: Rams 27, Jaguars 21
