The Travelers Championship is underway at TPC River Highlands in Connecticut, and we’ve got an early surprise midway through the first round. Mackenzie Hughes wrapped up his Thursday after an 8:25 a.m. tee time, and he put together a blistering 60 to open at -10.

DraftKings Sportsbook opened Hughes at +40000 to win the tournament, +7000 to finish in the top five, and +3300 to finish in the top ten. With his first round complete, Hughes is now +1800 to win the tournament. He opened the day +15000 to finish with the lead after round 1, and now sits at -10000.

Hughes currently holds a three-shot lead over second place Rory McIlroy, and a four-shot lead over Michael Thompson, Phil Mickelson, Tyler Duncan, Sergio Garcia, and Seung-Yul Noh. A sizable chunk of the field remains on the course, and the lowest score for anybody still on the front nine is -3 for Danny Lee, Louis Oosthuizen, and Roger Sloan, who have all completed five holes.

Hughes tees off at 1:40 p.m. on Friday.
