The PGA Tour returns to TPC River Highlands in Connecticut this week for the 2020 Travelers Championship. It is the third tournament since the Tour restarted its 2019-2020 season, and we’re back with more daily fantasy golf.
DraftKings posted prices for its Millionaire contest, and Rory McIlroy remains the top-priced golfer at $11,200 in spite of a second straight sub-optimal performance. After finishing in the top five in all six tournaments he played prior to the Tour suspension, he has now finished 32nd and 41st the past two weeks. Although he is the top priced golfer this week, he does not have the shortest odds for the first time since the restart. Maybe now might be the time to jump on McIlroy in a down market?
Defending champion Chez Reavie comes in at $7,300. He missed the cut two weeks ago and finished 74th last week, but given his success last year at River Highlands, don’t be surprised if he is a moderately popular pick as a cheap option.
Another popular pick could be Bubba Watson. He’s $8,800 and the past two weeks has finished seventh and 52nd. Last year, he finished 54th in the Travelers. However, he has won this tournament three times dating back to 2010. He missed the cut in 2017, so this could be an all or nothing play to some extent, but his history will draw in DFS players.
