The Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings will face off in a sim Monday at 3:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before tip.
Captain’s Pick
Deandre Ayton ($14,100)
First off, there’s really no reason to be Captaining anyone from the Kings in this spot. Maybe we’d look at De’Aaron Fox a little bit, but really there are better options riddled throughout the Suns. Ayton is one of those options and offers a nice floor with his double-double averages and a good value at Captain.
Fade of the Game
Buddy Hield ($10,400)
Hield may seem like a decent play. He’s got a good ceiling given his ability to drain 3s and some of his box scores are going to be pretty tasty. The issue is that isn’t the majority of them and there’s a decent risk in playing Hield at this price. I think we can look at a Suns stack and sort of fit in a value of two from the Kings.
Value Picks
Mikal Bridges ($5,000) — Bridges had been starting for the Suns prior to the coronavirus pandemic shutting the NBA down. Before that, Bridges was filling in for the injured Kelly Oubre Jr., who is still in this contest, but priced up. Bridges is cheaper and there are plenty of box scores he could roll with 30+ minutes on them.
Cory Joseph ($2,400) — Joseph is the best value pick on the Kings by a decent margin. Earlier in the season, Joseph was thrust into the starting lineup in place of Fox, who was dealing with a bad ankle sprain. Joseph has played in almost every regular season game and a third of those are starts. So we have a very good chance of rolling one of those box scores.
