The NASCAR Cup Series’ GEICO 500 is set to run Sunday at 3:00 p.m. ET. The race will take place at the the fast track known as Talladega Superspeedway, and DraftKings Sportsbook has the odds for each driver competing. We break down the betting splits for some of the top contenders here.
Chase Elliott is second in the Cup Series standings and is favored to win at +700. Because of that, he’s received his fair share of support from bettors. He leads all drivers with 13 percent of the handle while 12 percent of the total bets are on him winning. Brad Keselowski (+750) has the second best odds, and the splits reflect that. He’s second to Elliott in handle (11 percent) and is tied with Joey Logano +900 for second overall in bets percentage (9). That group rounds out the top three.
Ryan Blaney’s (+1100) bets percentage (7) isn’t as high as the drivers who are top three in the odds, but his nine percent handle matches Logano’s mark. He won at Talladega in a thriller last October, and it seems like quite a few people think he’s primed to secure his first win of the season.
Aric Almirola (+1800) has emerged as one of the bettors’ favorite long shots. He hasn’t finished outside the top five in his last four races at Talladega and has notched one win during that span. He accounts for 3 percent of the handle and 4 percent of the total bets. He’s trailed by Jimmie Johnson (+2500), who has 3 percent of the handle and three percent of the total bets.
