Quarterbacks

Stud

Patrick Mahomes, KC vs. BUF, $8,000 – Though this is far from an ideal matchup, Mahomes is easily the best quarterback on this three-game slate. He’s also the lone QB who’s tended to actually hit his ceiling. Despite Mahomes having failed to exceed 20.0 DKFP in any of his past three starts, the reigning Super Bowl MVP has surpassed that mark nine times across his past 15 simulations. It certainly helps matters that Mahomes has averaged 20.3 DKFP in Kansas City’s 13 streams at Arrowhead, too.

Value

Josh Allen, BUF at KC, $6,000 – The Bills don’t tend to score too many touchdowns, but when they do, Allen is almost always involved. In fact, while the sophomore’s 20 passing TDs might seem underwhelming, know that Allen also leads Buffalo with 15 rushing scores, including five in his past six games. As you might expect after hearing such a stat, Allen’s averaged an impressive 22.2 DKFP within that span of time. Not bad for the cheapest starting pivot on the slate.

Running Backs

Stud

Christian McCaffrey, CAR at PHI, $7,500 – There almost isn’t a middle ground with McCaffrey in these streams — he’s either really good or really disappointing. Still, on a slate this small, it’s hard to not be enticed by his upside. McCaffrey’s a three-down back, he’s involved in the passing game and, most important of all, he’s managed to exceed 28.0 DKFP four times in Carolina’s 26 matchups. Now, clearly that’s not a great ratio, but it’s a level of ceiling that is unmatched at the position.

Value

Miles Sanders, PHI vs. CAR, $5,100 – Sanders’ price point just doesn’t make any sense. Despite leading all RBs on this slate in DKFP average (16.4), the rookie is the least expensive “starting” back of the group. Making things even more strange is the fact that Sanders has managed to score a touchdown in three of the Eagles’ past four games, so it’s not like recency bias is playing a factor. In any event, Sanders will be a popular asset on this slate, but his ownership will be justified.

Wide Receivers

Stud

Tyreek Hill, KC at BUF, $7,800 – Hill is coming off a very disappointing performance against the Steelers, but that doesn’t change the fact that the speedy wideout has by far the highest ceiling of any receiver on this slate. Hill’s managed to exceed 20.0 DKFP nine times in these simulations, most recently as part of an eight-catch performance against the Panthers. He also leads all Chiefs players with 16 receiving touchdowns.

Value

Corey Davis, TEN vs. PIT, $3,900 – Pittsburgh is one of the most difficult matchups to draw in any simulation, but Davis’ inexpensive price point trumps that negative. The former first-round pick has been able to score a touchdown in three-straight games, a span of time where Davis has also managed to exceed 20.0 DKFP twice. With A.J. Brown ($5,500) struggling as of late, Davis seems like the man to own in the Titans’ receiving corps.

Tight Ends

Stud

Zach Ertz, PHI vs. CAR, $5,500 – While you could complete the Kansas City stack with Travis Kelce ($6,100), Ertz gives you a similar amount of production without cutting into the aforementioned Hill’s ceiling. In fact, Philadelphia’s TE is averaging an eye-popping 19.5 DKFP across his past eight games, a stretch that’s seen Ertz rack up 51 receptions. In terms of positional volume, Ertz is almost in a class of his own.

Value

Tyler Kroft, BUF at KC, $3,400 – While I’d generally recommend using Josh Allen on an island, if you were looking to pair Buffalo’s QB with a receiving threat, Kroft would be the guy. Honestly, no one else on the Bills’ roster even comes close to the tight end’s level of production. Kroft is the lone Buffalo player with over 100 receptions. Kroft is also the lone Buffalo player with over 1,000 yards receiving. Considering he’s averaging 5.5 catches per game over his past eight starts, there’s really no risk in using the veteran.

Defense/Special Teams

Stud

Steelers, PIT at TEN, $2,700 – Pittsburgh should definitely be the most expensive defense on this slate. The team’s depth chart is stacked. I mean, between an X-Factor player in T.J. Watt and two players with superstar traits in Cameron Heyward and Minkah Fitzpatrick, it easy to see why opponents have trouble putting up points. Add in 55 sacks and 21 forced turnovers and the upside is clear to see.

Value

Panthers, CAR at PHI, $2,500 – The Eagles are far from a poor offense, but this is all about the Panthers having the assets to make big plays happen on defense. To wit, Carolina’s recovered 21 fumbles as a defense throughout these streams. None of the other five units on the slate have more than nine.
