SHOWDOWN STRATEGY
Colts
Jacoby Brissett ($10,400) has been one of the more consistent quarterbacks in these simulations. He’s not a flashy name nor does he post the big Lamar Jackson type performances but he goes out and gets the job done. Entering this game, he’s averaging 241 passing yards with 43 touchdowns thrown and nine interceptions. Brissett does mix it up a bit as well and uses his legs when necessary, as he’s rushed for 212 yards and two touchdowns. Don’t let his overall 72 rating and 74 awareness deter you, he’s been much better than advertised.
When it comes to his receivers, as you’d expect, his best overall when it comes to performance is T.Y. Hilton ($9,800). Entering this game averaging 16.4 DKFP with 4.1 receptions and 71.4 yards, Hilton has reached the end zone 16 times, which is the best on the team by a wide margin. His speed rating of 93 is also amongst the best in this game. When it comes to volume, Eric Ebron ($8,000) has been that guy, averaging 4.9 receptions, 58 receiving yards but only nine touchdowns scored. One would think that with the number of looks Ebron is getting he’d be more active in the end zone but that simply hasn’t been the case. Zach Pascal ($5,200) has been a strong mid-tier option overall but has been sputtering as of late. In fact, over his last five games, he’s averaging just 5.3 DKFP, including one game where he scored 0.8 DKFP by posting -2 receiving yards on one catch. Even with his recent struggles, he’s still a much better option than Devin Funchess ($4,600), who has only made a catch eight of the Colts’ 26 games. The best value on this team belongs to Chester Rogers ($2,200), who is averaging three receptions, 39 yards and has scored six times. Even if salary saving isn’t necessary on your roster, Rogers is involved enough to deserve your attention.
Marlon Mack ($8,600) is also not worthy of your attention at all. The “RB1” on this team is averaging just 25.7 yards with four touchdowns. He’s not catching at all and has totaled 10 receptions through 26 games. Simply go down the list, find Nyheim Hines ($2,400) and take his average of 8.8 DKFP with eight touchdowns scored instead. Hines will both run the ball and catch out of the backfield.

Browns
Baker Mayfield ($10,600) has some very similar numbers to Brissett but his floor has been a bit scarier than him. For example, three games ago, Mayfield somehow posted 0.48 DKFP. Yup, he only threw for 87 yards with two interceptions and zero touchdowns. We’ve been seeing a number of low scoring games for Mayfield as of late as well, scoring less than 10 DKFP in three of his last six games. I would personally rather take Brissett over Mayfield and save a tad bit of salary in the process. Overall, Mayfield is averaging 241 passing yards with 43 touchdowns thrown and eight interceptions.
Another player on the Browns that’s really been struggling lately has been Odell Beckham Jr ($10,200). Even though he’s averaging 16.2 DKFP with 69 yards and 18 touchdowns scored, his numbers have been nowhere near that as of late. In fact, over his last five games, Beckham is averaging just 8 DKFP with only one touchdown. For how expensive he is, it’s concerning that he’s been posting such poor numbers as of late. With that in mind, you may be better off going with a receiver that has been doing the opposite of Beckham in Jarvis Landry ($7,400). Landry is averaging 13.7 DKFP over his last five with two touchdowns scored and at least five receptions in three of those games. At a steep discount from Beckham, Landry feels like a safer option, even against a Colts’ secondary that isn’t exactly daunting. David Njoku ($6,600) has been seeing a ton of volume in these games, averaging 4.6 receptions and 57.2 yards. Somehow he’s only scored five times which takes away from his upside a bit but in the mid-tier options, he’s a good play to rely on to make a handful of receptions in this game. Damion Ratley ($4,200) was a much more attractive option when he was in the low $3K range in salary but he’s jumped up $1,000 from the last time he played. Now, his 2.1 receptions and 41 receiving yards don’t look as good considering his salary. Ratley is someone I compare to the likes of Kendrick Bourne, as he’s scored eight times but if he’s not reaching the end zone, you can get a real dud of a game. Nick Chubb ($9,400) is a really tough running back to figure out and honestly, it’s getting annoying. He’s only rushing 47 yards per game and isn’t catching much at all with seven receptions through 26 games. However, he has scored 12 touchdowns. Granted, he’s still posting way more single-digit fantasy point games than we’d prefer, especially at his high salary but he is a legitimate threat in the red zone. I still don’t think I’m paying up for him and would rather use Kareem Hunt ($3,000) with his pass-catching abilities but Chubb is at least a much tougher decision than Mack.
THE OUTCOME
I think both tight ends in this game present a really strong captain choice with the amount of volume they receive. Both aren’t overly expensive either in this spot but David Njoku ($9,900) is the more inexpensive option. Eric Ebron ($12,000) is still extremely viable as well but he’s $2,100 more than Njoku.
Final Score: Colts 27, Browns 21
