How the public is betting Austin Hubbard vs. Max Rohskopf

UPDATE, 5:30 p.m.: Austin Hubbard defeats Max Rohskopf by TKO at 5:00 of the second round. Rohskopf quit on his stool in between rounds, and as much as his corner tried to talk him into heading back for five more minutes of punishment, he just didn’t have it.

UPDATE, 1:50 p.m.: The betting public at DraftKings Sportsbook loves the replacement fighter. Rohskopf replaced Joe Solecki at the beginning of the week, and the public has hammered him into the weekend. As of Saturday afternoon, he’s getting 85% of the handle and 79% of total bets.

Austin Hubbard got a replacement opponent and he’ll face UFC newcomer and undefeated MMA fighter Max Rohskopf on Saturday night at UFC on ESPN 11.

“Thud” Hubbard is 11-4 as an MMA fighter, but 1-2 in the UFC with all of those fights decided by the judges. Averaging 3.02 strikes per minute as well as one takedown per fight, the Elevation Fight Team member six stoppages in his career. But he’s getting only 13% of the handle and 25% of the bets so far in this lightly-wagered event.

Rohskopf is 5-0 in MMA with all five wins as submissions, and has only gone past the first round once. He’s fought in Titan FC, Final Fight Championship, and the World Fighting Federation. His last win was an anaconda choke of Paulo Silva in February at 53 seconds of the first round. And bettors seem to like his stopping power, as he’s getting 87% of the cash and 75% of the tickets written for him to win the opening bout of tonight’s card.
