Quarterbacks

Stud

Deshaun Watson, HOU vs. CIN ($7,000)

Rostering Watson in Madden is almost always a good call. He averages 22.5 DKFP, the most of any player in the sims. It’s rare that Watson doesn’t have a good game due to his ability to run and throw the football. He’s scored at least 19 DKFP in seven of his last nine games. Watson has 5,674 yards through the air and another 1,253 yards on the ground.

Value

Mitchell Trubisky, CHI at JAX ($5,900)

Watson has been the best overall QB in our sims and Trubisky has been the best fantasy QB per dollar. Usually at a cheap price, Trubisky has been unstoppable on the ground and has even had a decent amount of success throwing the football. Two games ago, he actually tossed five touchdown passes and scored 36 DKFP against the Seahawks. He’s scored at least 17 DKFP in 11 of his last 12 games.

Running Backs

Stud

Miles Sanders, PHI at LV ($5,200)

We have a few decent options at running back and Sanders looks like the best of the group. He averages 16.5 DKFP, the most of any RB on the slate and is only the 10th most expensive player on the slate at the position. This makes him a better value than even some of the really cheap backs with decent production. As a fun narrative, he’s only 10 rushing yards away from 2,000 total in our simulations.

Value

Tarik Cohen, CHI at JAX ($3,700)

A boom-or-bust option as a pass-catching back, Cohen has been more boom than bust lately. In his last two games, he’s averaging 15.35 DKFP. Cohen typically plays better when the Bears are trailing and he’s forced to play more snaps in his receiving role although this doesn’t mean he lacks rushing potential. He has over 100 yards on the ground and a rushing touchdown across the Bears’ last couple games.

Wide Receivers

Stud

D.J. Chark, JAX vs. CHI ($5,700)

Chark has struggled lately. After going on a run as a touchdown machine, he’s gone back-to-back games without scoring a touchdown, averaging just 5.1 DKFP during this stretch. Even so, I expect Chark to get back on track. He has 22 total touchdown receptions and his price has gone down after his recent struggles. Chark was priced at $6,700 earlier in the week and is now $1,000 cheaper.

Value

Mike Williams, LAC at NO ($4,300)

If we were naming an MVP in the DK Madden sims, my vote would go to Williams. He averages 18.2 DKFP, the most of any skill position player on this slate, and is always at a really cheap price. For his production, Williams has consistently been a terrific value. He’s scored double-digit DKFP in nine consecutive games and is closing in on 2,000 simulated receiving yards.

Tight Ends

Stud

Zach Ertz, PHI at LV ($5,700)

The only tight end rated over a 90 on this slate, Ertz has scored at least 16 DKFP in five of his last seven games. He also has a lot of upside for the position and scored over 30 DKFP in two of those games. To make matters even better, the Raiders have one of the worst passing defenses in Madden. Ertz should be able to have another strong game and he isn’t all that expensive considering his Madden rating, average production and the ease of the matchup.

Value

James O’Shaughnessy, JAX vs. CHI ($3,600)

O’Shaughnessy always makes for a safe play in the flex. At a cheap price, he doesn’t have a ton of upside, but we don’t need a monster game at such a cheap price. O’Shaughnessy has scored at least 10 DKFP in seven of his last nine games, which is production difficult to find from most players at this price point. His security comes from how frequently he’s targeted in the Jaguars’ passing game. O’Shaughnessy has hauled in at least three catches in 11 consecutive games.

Defense/Special Teams

Texans DST vs. CIN ($2,700)

I think there is some safety playing the Texans’ defense against the Bengals. Andy Dalton ($5,800) averages the second-fewest DKFP of any starting QB on today’s slate and the Cincy offense has been doing almost nothing lately. The Bengals have failed to score over 20 points in each of the last five games and they have been held to single-digits in a couple of those games. The Texans are coming off a game in which they racked up four sacks and forced three interceptions against the Buccaneers.
