UPDATE 3:58 p.m.: Offensive tackle Teven Jenkins tweeted that the Pokes offensive line supports their star running back. This is escalating in a hurry.
As an O-line we stand and support Chuba https://t.co/5zau9yTpCF

Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard was listed as one of the potential early entrants in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Canadian might regret not making the leap now, as seeing Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy in a shirt for the One America News Network has led the Heisman Trophy candidate tweeting he’s done with all things OKSU.
I will not stand for this.. This is completely insensitive to everything going on in society, and it’s unacceptable. I will not be doing anything with Oklahoma State until things CHANGE. https://t.co/psxPn4Khoq

Pokes linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga joined with his teammate on Twitter as well.
I stand with him! https://t.co/WWOs2ALxml

Hubbard led the nation last season with 2,094 rushing yards, and has been consistently one of the top non-quarterbacks in Heisman Trophy odds. Ogbongbemiga led the Pokes with five sacks and his 100 tackles was second on the team.
It’s not the first time Gundy has supported OANN, as he praised the network as part of a news conference in April related to shutdown of football activities at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.
OANN has been accused of advancing conspiracy theories and promoting the agenda of the Trump administration under the guise of being a news network. Fact-checkers generally find issues with the majority of what airs during its programming.
Gundy, an alum of his employer, is 129-64 in Stillwater since taking over in 2005 as head coach. He’s been to a bowl game in 14 of his 15 seasons, and won the Big 12 Championship in 2011.
Where this might really hurt is in recruiting, as players that are mostly black might find issue with the coach publicly supporting a news outlet considered a part of the right-wing fringe. As of now, the Cowboys have the 33rd best recruiting class in America and fifth-best in the Big 12 according to 247sports.com.
But without some kind of walkback or acknowledgement of the situation from Gundy as well as the university administration, it might be hard to see those numbers improving before the early signing day in December.
