The Carolina Panthers and Kansas City Chiefs will face off in a Madden sim Monday at 4:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.

Captain’s Pick

Christian McCaffrey ($14,100)

CMC hasn’t been the same power house in these Madden sims but there’s some hope in this matchup. The Panthers have a tough defense, so I think going with someone on Carolina gives us leverage off the bat. McCaffrey is still getting a lot of touches they just don’t always translate to points. If that starts to happen, we’re in business. CMC at low ownership sounds tasty.

Fade of the Game

Damien Williams ($7,000)

The Panthers have a tough defense as I alluded to above and that could mean it’ll be tough on Williams and the run game. Luke Keuchly hasn’t retired in these sims, so he’s out on the field destroying the opposition. Runs up the middle may be tough, so a TD may not be in the works. No TD and that really limits Williams’ upside in this sim.

Bargain Shopping

I’m going to start this section unconventionally and go with D.J. Moore ($8,200). He isn’t your typical value play but Moore may go overlooked a bit at this price and his points per game (12.3). Moore has been on a scoring binge with six TDs over his past four sims, that’s three multi-TD games. He’s done that in each of the past two games agains the Niners and Jets, which makes it even more incredible.

If we’re looking at traditional value, DeMarcus Robinson ($4,800) is always a fine play. He’s got a safe floor and generally gives us 2x salary value. Jarius Wright isn’t a bad call at $2,800 for the Panthers. He’s actually got a nice ceiling at 25.8 DKFP a few sims ago against the Broncos. The Chiefs have decent corners but Wright has a high enough ceiling to make this salary more than worth it.
