Modest, deep sleeper options to consider for NASCAR DFS at Dixie Vodka 400 on Sunday

We break down some sleepers and some deep sleepers today’s Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway

Homestead-Miami used to be the last race of the season and determine the NASCAR Cup champion for the year. But in 2020 it’s now another event, and the heat and humidity of South Florida in the summertime will be a factor in today’s race. There’s a big difference on running in Florida from March to June, so the cars will need to use the info gained from the trucks and Xfinity races to adjust.

The Dixie Vodka 400 is set for 3:30 p.m. today on Fox. We break down some of the best picks to round out your DFS roster below, and you can set your lineup here.

Modest Sleepers

Matt DiBendetto ($8,000)

The Wood Brothers Racing #21 will start 23rd today, but as a fantasy option there’s room for growth. DiBendetto has four Top 10’s in 12 races, and racked up 50 fantasy points last week at Martinsville for starting 19th and finishing 7th, while adding two fastest laps. If he can stay on the track, he’s got plenty of quality finishes this season on intermediate tracks. It’s also his sixth Cup race at the venue, so experience shouldn’t be an issue.

Bubba Wallace ($7,600)

His emotional run at Martinsville saw him start 23rd and finish 11th, which got him 54 points and his third straight event he’s improved on start position. And for a driver that’s quite frankly had some tough luck from a crash standpoint, maybe it’s starting to balance out now. He’s starting 17th today, but the Richard Petty Motorsports #43 has enough horsepower to advance on that number.

Deep Sleepers

Austin Dillon ($6,200)

Don’t let a wreck at The Paper Clip on Wednesday overshadow that he had a fast car, which recorded 17 fastest laps during the race. It’s been an excellent return for the most famous number in NASCAR history, as Dillon had improved on his starting position in three previous races, and put two Top 10’s in there as well. He’ll start 16th today.

Michael McDowell ($5,200)

He’s cheap, and he’s potential points. The last three races he’s started 25th, 36th, and 29th... but finished 14th, 24th, and 14th. That’s fantasy points for you, including 48 of them midweek at Martinsville. Nobody navigates traffic better from the back of the field, and he’s starting 30th today so there will be plenty of opportunity to add finish improvement points.
