8:07 p.m. UPDATE: Julia Avila wins by TKO at 22 seconds of the first round. She caught Mazany early, and the underdog was unable to defend herself before. Avila was a huge favorite at -625 to win, but +130 to win by KO.

3:10 p.m. UPDATE: DraftKings Sportsbook posted their latest fight day betting splits. Everyone still loves Julia Avila in this one, with 85 percent of handle and bets on the heavy -625 favorite.

A potential contender for the bantamweight women’s rankings is a huge favorite when Julia Avila takes on Gina Mazany at UFC Fight Night on ESPN+ tonight in Las Vegas.

Avila is 7-1 in her MMA career, winning her UFC debut against Pannie Gianzad in July via decision. The Bakersfield, California native has only lost once, with the rare “TKO via finger injury” the reason. While blocking a kick at 49 seconds of the first round against Marciea Allen in May of 2018, she ended up with one of the most gruesome finger injuries you’ll ever see. Of her eight career wins, four are via stoppage.

Mazany is 6-3 overall, and returns to the UFC after being dropped from the roster with a 1-3 mark in the black octagon. Her win over Valerie Barney via first round choke in January was enough to get her back here, but she’s a heavy underdog and the bettors are making it worse.

Here are the betting odds and bet splits at DraftKings Sportsbook for Julia Avila vs. Gina Mazany at UFC Fight Night on ESPN+ tonight:

Betting splits

Julia Avila: Opened -455, now -625. 86% of handle, 84% of bets
Gina Mazany: Opened +325, now +420. 14% of handle, 16% of bets
