Two flyweights moving up a level to bantamweight face off when Jordan Espinosa takes on Mark De La Rosa at UFC Fight Night on ESPN this Saturday, June 13th.
Espinosa is 14-7 in his MMA career, but just 1-2 in the UFC despite being ranked #13 at flyweight right now. He’s tapped out in the first round of his last two matches to Matt Schnell and Alex Perez, but the 30-year-old Findlay, Ohio resident has nine career stoppages. Seven of those are by submission, and he’ll look to fight on the ground this evening.
De La Rosa is 11-4 overall, but just 2-4 in the UFC, and could be fighting for his place on the roster as an underdog tonight. He’s lost three in a row, two by decision to Alex Perez and Kai Kara-France, and got knocked out by Raulian Paiva in his last bout. His stoppage over Elias Garcia in July of 2018 was his last victory.
