Patriots running back Sony Michel had surgery on his foot in May and was considered “more maintenance-based to help relieve discomfort,” according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss. Michel is now in Foxborough working on his rehab.
Michel has had trouble with injuries in his career, but has only missed three NFL games in his two seasons while leading the team in rushing.

Michel doesn’t have a timeline for recovery, so there is a chance he lands on the PUP list to start training camp. There’s no doubt that the Patriots will look toward Damien Harris to see where he is in his development this summer. If he can take a step forward, Michel’s status as lead back when he returns could be in jeopardy.
Yet another injury for Michel should continue to send up red flags for his fantasy status in 2020, especially when the offense will take a hit with Tom Brady gone. Damien Harris is a wild card worth taking a flier on but this news could push Harris’ ADP up into a spot he loses value.
