The KBO is kicking off yet another weekend of baseball, and that means there will be more classic contests centered around five-game slates on DraftKings. We break down some ideal picks for Monday at each position below. You can set your lineup here.
Pitcher: Odrisamer Despaigne, KT Wiz ($8,200)
Despaigne has been a stud in the KBO and is coming off eight scoreless innings over the KIA Tigers, striking out seven. He has a 0.94 WHIP and 28 strikeouts in 32 innings pitched. The KT Wiz aren’t a good team to target unfortunately, but Despaigne is by far the best upside pitcher going on this slate.
Catcher: Dong Won Park, Kiwoon Heroes ($4,400)
Park has six home runs and 21 RBIs on the season and has seven hits in his last 12 at bats, accumulating two home runs and eight RBIs in that stretch. He’ll take on Ee Whan Kim, who has a 1.56 WHIP so far and gave up two home runs in 3.2 innings in his last start.
First Base: Jin Sung Kang, NC Dinos ($3,500)
Kang is coming off a three hit, two doubles outing while also showing a ton of consistency along the way. With an OPS of 1.347 in 57 at bats this season, it’s hard to pass on him in, especially against Seung Won Moon, who has given up a .333 average to righties this season.
Second Base: Min Woo Park, NC Dinos ($4,500)
Park has put up a good season so far, especially against right-handers, who he’s hit .358 against in 53 at bats. He’s slowed down a bit of late, but did hit a two-run home run last time out and gets a good matchup today.
Shortstop: Sun Bin Kim, SS, KIA Tigers: ($4,100)
Kim is top 10 in OPB (.440) and has been a tough out all season while putting up some strong upside games with multi-hit games. He missed some time due to injury, but has come on strong since his injury with two straight 10 DK points game and gets a good matchup today against Se Woong Park.
Third Base: Jeong Choi, SK Wyverns ($4,400)
Choi has a nice hitting streak going with eight hits in his last 17 at bats, including three doubles and a home run with seven RBIs. I don’t love his matchup, but Choi’s recent play and price are attractive.
Outfield: Ji Wan Na, KIA Tigers ($3,600)
Na gets a good matchup against Se Woong Park and makes for a good part of a stack against him. He’s been inconsistent, but when he gets going, he has good upside. In his last four games, he’s hit 25, 0, 20 and 0 DK points.
Outfield: Mel Rojas Jr., KT Wiz ($6,000)
Rojas faces lefty Hui Kwan Yu, who Rojas hit a home run against early in the season as he went 4-for-5 on the day. Rojas is coming off a two home run game and is worth paying up for today.
Outfield: Eun Sung Chae, LG Twins ($3,200)
Chae will face Min Ho Lee, who is coming off a good outing, but Chae has been extremely consistent of late, with a hit in seven straight games. His price has risen somewhat, but he’s still a good value play.
