UPDATE: Full betting splits for Heinisch-Meerschaert
UPDATE June 5, 8:55 a.m.: The fight is back on after a coronavirus scare.
UPDATE: Ian Heinisch has backed out of the fight for unspecified reasons. The search is on for a replacement to fight Gerald Meerschaert.
A middleweight looking to get his career back on track faces a submission specialist veteran when Ian Heinisch steps into the octagon against Gerald Meerschaert at UFC 250 on June 6th in Las Vegas.
Heinisch is 13-3 as an MMA professional, but has dropped his last two fights via unanimous decision. Prior to that he had a pair of distance victories against Cezar Ferreira and Antonio Carlos Jr., but he’ll want to improve on his 19% takedown accuracy across his four UFC fights. The 31-year-old out of Highlands Ranch, Colorado has six stoppages and seven decision wins in his career, and is still ranked #13 in the division despite the recent setbacks.
Meerschaert has a 31-12 record, and is as grizzled as MMA veterans come at the age of 32. 23 of his wins have been via submission, and with six KO’s as well he’s looking to end things early. He’s got a 5-4 mark since joining the UFC in December of 2016, and will have a five-inch reach advantage on Heinisch.
Here are the betting odds at DraftKings Sportsbook for Ian Heinisch vs. Gerald Meerschaert at UFC 250 on June 6th.
Money line odds
Ian Heinisch: -125
Gerald Meerschaert: +100
