Top NFL Targets at each position for 6-game slate on May 7th

There’s another six-game Madden slate on tap for Thursday, and we’re breaking down the best picks by position for the classic slate on DraftKings. This lineup is full of quality running backs, but you should check out the other top-notch plays. You can enter your lineups here.

Quarterback

Sam Darnold, Giants ($5,900) vs. Texans

Darnold isn’t the name that comes to mind when you think of significant production at the quarterback position, but he’s played well against poor secondaries. He’s eclipsed 20 DKFP against the Oakland Raiders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Indianapolis Colts, and Atlanta Falcons. A decent value play at quarterback could save you a ton of salary elsewhere, and Robby Anderson has the speed to take the top off running deep.

Dak Prescott, Cowboys ($6,500) vs. Seahawks

Prescott has the kind of dual-threat ability to take over, but only flashes it occasionally. If he makes use of his legs while connecting with Amari Cooper , Michael Gallup, and Zeke, he could end up being one of the highest scoring quarterbacks in the slate.

Other option: Jameis Winston, Buccaneers ($6,100) vs. Washington

Running back

Dalvin Cook, Vikings ($6,700) vs. Raiders

Cook has reached double-digits in fantasy points in his last five games. He’s faced some formidable defenses along the way. Only one other running back on Minnesota has recorded a fantasy point. I like his chances to dominate the carries to come up big against a poor defense.

Saquon Barkley, Giants ($6,500) vs. Falcons

Barkley leads all running backs in DKFP per game (18.5) but is the fourth most expensive option. His as versatile as Ezekiel Elliott and Le’Veon Bell and has reached double-digits in DKFP in his last seven games.

Tevin Coleman, 49ers ($5,700) vs. Titans

Coleman is averaging 195 rushing yards per game in his last two contests and might get more touches than any other running back in the slate. Why he’s so affordable is a mystery, but he’s consistently churned out solid production. The 49ers are run heavy, and Coleman’s numbers should continue to benefit from that.

Chris Thompson, Washington ($3,000) vs. Buccaneers

Thompson doesn’t provide a ton of upside as a rusher, but eats up PPR points. Both Washington’s other running backs have been modest. While Washington hasn’t scored in a sim, he’s hauled in at least three passes in seven games. A score would set him over the top and make choosing him as a value option worthwhile.

Other options: Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys ($7,000) vs. Seahawks

Wide receiver

Darius Slayton, Giants ($4,300) vs. Falcons

Slayton has been the Giants’ most productive wideout. This price is a bargain when you consider that he ranks third in DKFP per game (14.2) in the slate. He’ll have a good matchup while Golden Tate attracts the attention of Desmond Trufant.

Adam Thielen, Vikings ($6,100) vs. Raiders

Stefon Diggs finally scored a touchdown in the Vikings’ last sim, but most of his production came on an 80-yard bomb. Thielen gets more work, and while both can dominate the Raiders’ secondary, Thielen has a much more desirable price tag.

Robby Anderson, Jets ($6,300) vs. Texans

Speed kills, and Anderson has plenty of it to burn. Houston isn’t great defending the pass, and Anderson can take off after the catch if he gets space. Stacking him with Darnold could be quality stack that doesn’t cost much.

DeAndre Hopkins, Texans ($8,200) vs. Jets

All Hopkins has to worry about in this game is Jamal Adams. He can run a variety of routes and should dominate New York’s secondary with enough targets. You’ll have to balance out your lineup with strong value plays if you use him though.

Other options: D.K. Metcalf, Seahawks ($4,100) vs. Cowboys; Breshad Perriman, Buccaneers ($3,000) vs. Washington

Tight End

George Kittle, 49ers ($6,000) vs. Titans

The run game and Kittle power the 49ers’ offense. He’s a lot pricier than the next best option, but has a significantly higher ceiling.

Darren Waller, Raiders ($4,800) vs. Vikings

The Raiders do everything they can to get Waller involved. He lines up on the outside like a receiver, runs the ball, and lines up as a traditional tight end. His speed (89) is a nightmare for opposing teams and he is an above average downfield threat at the tight end spot.

Other option: Jordan Reed, Washington ($4,700) vs. Buccaneers

Defense/Special Teams

49ers D/ST ($2,700) vs. Titans

Don’t be alarmed by San Francisco’s poor numbers. They have top-notch talent all over the field. Derrick Henry isn’t a factor, so the Titans should be very limited.

Vikings D/ST ($3,000) vs. Raiders

Minnesota has one of the highest scoring defenses in the slate and a fearsome defensive line that can get after the quarterback. The Vikings have recorded eight sacks and recovered four fumbles in their last three games.

Other option: Buccaneers ($2,400) vs. Washington
