UPDATE: Latest odds, betting splits for Ferguson-Gaethje

In the main event of UFC 249, the Lightweight Interim Title will be decided between Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje.

This fight was originally intended to be Ferguson against Khabib Nurmagomedov, but two of the best lightweights in MMA history managed to miss each other yet again due to another outside occurrence: This time the timing of the fight being disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ferguson has an impressive 26-3 record, has won 11 fights in a row, and is the No. 1 contender for Khabib’s belt. Gaethje is the #4 contender, and his 21-2 career record includes three wins in a row all by first round knockout. He’s a striker, whereas Ferguson is more known as a submission specialist. It should make for a great contrast in styles for a main event that will be one of the most-viewed pay-per-view fights in UFC history.
