UPDATE 10:25 pm: Billy Quarantillo wins by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28). It was an action-packed fight, but Quarantillo survived an early bullrush by Carlyle, and wore him down with his ground game.

One of the fights on the UFC on ESPN 9 card tonight that has seen the most betting movement is between lightweight Billy Quarantillo and featherweight Spike Carlyle. Both fighters came in yesterday around 150 lbs. for the catchweight battle.

Carlyle is only in his second UFC fight, and has a 9-1 career record in MMA. What he’s done so far however has clearly impressed the bettors, as 85% of the cash that’s come in on the fight has backed him despite being an underdog. This has moved the line from +132 to +115 in his favor, but bookmakers do appear to anticipate some of the cash moving back to his opponent closer to the fight.

Quarantillo is 13-2 in his career, and has won six bouts in a row, including his UFC debut with a submission win over Jacob Kilburn at UFC on ESPN in December. The Tampa native has 10 stoppages across his 13 wins, but doesn’t seem to be getting the respect from the bettors for this battle yet.
