The KBO is preparing to kick off yet another week of baseball, and that means there will be more classic contests centered around five-game slates on DraftKings. We break down some ideal picks for Monday at each position below. You can set your lineup here.
Pitcher: Chang Mo Koo, NC Dinos ($9,200)
Most people will be banking on Koo continuing to dominate in the KBO. He has a minuscule .41 ERA with 25 strikeouts through three quality starts. The 23-year-old has the highest DKFP average (32.8) in the league and hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down.
Catcher: Jin Sung Kang, NC Dinos ($2,700)
Kang has been performing at a high level, and there’s even more of a reason to roster him with Eui Ji Yang ($5,000) battling a neck injury. Kang is batting .500 with four home runs and 15 RBIs. You can’t beat this price for a player who’s averaging 15.25 DKFP over the course of his last four games.
First Base: Roberto Ramos, LG Twins ($3,600)
Ramos’ price is the highest it’s been all season, and he’s still a bargain. He surged to the top of the KBO’s home run leader list Sunday by hitting a walk off grand slam in the ninth inning. He tallied 20 fantasy points in that outing and is batting .350 with seven home runs and 16 RBIs.
Second Base: Min Woo Park, Min Woo Park ($4,200)
Park does his job more often than not. He’s batting .382 in the Dinos’ leadoff spot. His team’s plate presence gives him plenty of appearances, and he’s tied with Sung Bum Na for most runs scored (14). He gets on base often and has capable hitters behind him.
Shortstop: Dixon Machado, Lotte Giants ($5,600)
Ha Seong Kim has been running hot, but is up against Chang Mo Koo Tuesday. That makes it hard to go with any Kiwoom Heroes batters. Machado is a bit over priced, but has one of the higher ceilings in a group of underwhelming shortstops.
Third Base: Jae Gyun Hwang, KT Wiz ($4,500)
Hwang hasn’t been in the starting lineup since last Wednesday because of a finger injury, but returned Sunday to record one hit in two at-bats off the bench. He reached double-digits in fantasy points for five straight games before suffering the finger injury and is batting .339 on the year. He leads all third basemen in DKFP per game (9.7).
Outfield: Yong Ho Jo, KT Wiz ($2,500)
Jo has been one of the most consistent hitters in the KBO. Although he only has 45 at-bats this season, his .526 batting average leads all players. He’s an under-the-radar player who doesn’t have a ton of power, but returns significant value more often than not.
Outfield: Dong Yeop Kim, Lions ($2,900)
Paying up for outfielders with power hasn’t panned out very well as of late, but Kim is a way to work around that. His batting average .289 is better than Aaron Altherr’s, and he also has four home runs with 16 RBIs. He’s been productive in years where he can stay on the field and has hit more than 20 home runs twice in four KBO seasons.
