Top NFL Targets at each position for 6-game slate on May 21st

Thursday’s Madden slate is set. DraftKings has a six-game classic contest today highlighted by Seahawks-Packers and Patriots-Rams this evening. We break down the best plays at each position below. You can enter your lineups here.

Quarterback

Deshaun Watson, Texans ($6,800) vs. Titans

Watson has scored at least 23 fantasy points in each of his last three games and will ve up against a defense that’s below average on the front line and in the secondary. Look for him to dominate Tennessee with Will Fuller, DeAndre Hopkins, and his legs.

Dwayne Haskins, Washington ($5,900) vs. Eagles

Haskins is the best value play available. He’s eclipsed 30 fantasy points three times with a below average receiving corps and will be up against a poor Eagles pass defense. Haskisn could very well score more than 20 DKFP and save you salary elsewhere.

Other option: Dak Prescott, Cowboys ($6,200) vs. Bengals

Running back

Miles Sanders, Eagles ($5,000) vs. Washington

Sanders’ ownership will surely be sky high at this price. He’s surpassed 24 DKFP in each of his last two sims and has reached double-digits in four straight contests. His versatility and ceiling makes him well worth rostering.

Phillip Lindsay, Broncos ($5,900) vs. Chargers

Lindsay’s ownership will likely see a bump after the massive 41.1-point fantasy outing he had in his last sim, and could have another big game against Los Angeles. The Chargers are solid up front, but the disparity between their secondary and the Broncos’ receiving corps is significant. Lindsay could get a ton of touches when Courtland Sutton and Noah Fant struggle to get things done.

James White, Patriot ($5,600) vs. Rams

White is the third cheapest running back in the slate despite having reached double-digits in fantasy points for four straight games. He’s rushed for more than 100 yards twice in his last four sims and is one of the best pass catching running backs around as well.

Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys ($7,100) vs. Bengals

I’m normally not for paying up for Elliott, but Cincinnati’s defense is bad enough to make me consider doing it. Like Christian McCaffrey, Elliott hasn’t performed like a top-notch running back consistently. But his skill set could be dominant against a defense that’s averaging the second lowest DKFP per game (3.1) in the slate.

Other options: Todd Gurley II, Rams ($6,100) vs. Patriots

Wide receiver

DeAndre Hopkins, Texans ($8,200) vs. Titans

Hopkins is a top three wideout up against one of the worst pass defenses in the slate. His DKFP per game (20.9) is tops at his position. Paying up for him makes a ton of sense given the lack of top-notch talent out wide in the slate.

Terry McLaurin, Washington ($5,700) vs. Eagles

McLaurin hasn’t torn it up as a WR1, but should benefit from facing a poor secondary. He’s tallied over 10 fantasy points in eight sims, so there’s a good chance he’ll return value.

Tyler Boyd, Bengals ($4,800) vs. Cowboys

Boyd has been playing like the top pass catcher on the Bengals. His reception and receiving yardage totals are similar to A.J. Green’s, but he’s caught five more touchdown passes. Getting Boyd away from Byron Jones raises his chances of having a field day against Dallas.

D.K. Metcalf, Broncos ($4,400) vs. Packers

Metcalf is another value WR2 who’s played better than his team’s top receiver. He trumps Tyler Lockett in receptions (51) and receiving yards (833) with six touchdowns. His size and speed makes him more of a long ball threat. I’d go with him over Lockett because of his big play ability.

Other options: Mike Williams, Chargers ($4,500) vs. Broncos

Tight End

Zach Ertz, Eagles ($5,700) vs. Washington

Ertz is the most expensive tight end because he’s also his team’s best pass catcher. Only Miles Sanders and Carson Wentz average more DKFP than the tight end, and he can be used all over the field.

Jordan Reed, Washington ($4,800) vs. Eagles

Reed is also his team’s top pass catcher and will be up against a poor secondary. He leads Washington in receptions (32) and touchdowns (7). He’s as valuable as any Washington player aside from Haskins because of his involvement.

Other option: Noah Fant, Broncos ($3,400) vs. Chargers

Defense/Special Teams

Cowboys D/ST ($3,100) vs. Bengals

Dallas has a formidable pass rush and two solid cornerbacks with solid speed. Cincinnati’s lack of a ground game could put Andy Dalton in some tough situations. I like their chances to keep the score low and force a few turnovers.
