The New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars will face off in a Madden sim Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.

Captain’s Picks

D.J. Chark ($14,100)

The past couple of games have really separated Chark from the field of WRs in Madden sim land. Chark has four TDs in his past three games, catching 11 passes for a total of 264 yards. Chark is bottled lightning, lightning in a bottle, a big play waiting to get out. Gardner Minshew II ($14,700), God bless him, has had some huge games in sims. Even when he’s off, Chark is usually the guy catching the lone TD.

Ben Watson ($11,400)

Ben Watson is not a name I thought I’d be typing in a Madden sim NFL DFS article in May but here we are! Watson is up for early breakout TE of Madden sim land. He’s averaging 16.2 fantasy points per contest and is already up over 1,000 yards in 14 games. Watson is doing all this while barely reaching the end zone (four TDs). He’s probably got the best floor of any play in this contest. Oh yeah, and he’s capable of 12 receptions for 176 yards and 2 TDs for 44.6 points.

FLEX Men

Julian Edelman ($10,400)

There’s an argument to be made for Edelman at Captain. I didn’t feel like making it though. He’s fine in the FLEX mostly because his production is starting to catch up. He has at least 14.9 FPTs in three of four games. Edelman is finding the end zone finally with back-to-back games with a TD. I think his ownership will still be average, though should be lower than normal given his inconsistency early in the sim season.

Josh Lambo ($3,600)

KICKERS ARE DFS PLAYS TOO YOU GUYS! Lambo is just one of many sim land booters who have found a place in these Showdown contests. He’s got at least 6.0 fantasy points in 10 straight contests, which is a good floor for a kicker. The Jaguars offense tends to stall on drives and the Patriots defense should force a lot of 4th downs. If that’s the case, Lambo could attempt a couple long ones and he’s capable of hitting.
