Best lineup strategy for Korean baseball DFS May 19th

The Korea Baseball Organization is back for week three, and that means DraftKings will have yet another five-game DFS slate going on Tuesday. We go over the top plays at each position ahead for the first classic slate of the week, and you can set your lineup here.

Pitcher: Chan Gyu Lim, LG Twins ($6,900)

Lim feasted on the SK Wyverns — one of the worst offensive teams in the KBO — in his season debut. He could do the same against another weak batting team Tuesday. Samsung Lions are toward the bottom of the league in terms of hits and run production and also strikeout at a high rate. A player like Lim, who tallied seven strikeouts and 26.5 DKFP earlier this year, will likely be highly rostered.

Catcher: Jin Sung Kang, NC Dinos ($2,200)

You can’t count on getting consistent performances from most catchers, so Kanf is a player worth taking a risk on. Although he’s second to Eui Ji Yang on the depth chart, he’s tallied three at-bats in each of his last four games and is batting .467 with three home runs and nine RBIs. He’s a valuable member of the Dinos’ lineup and can come up big for cheap.

First Base: Jae Il Oh, Doosan Bears ($4,200)

Last years Korean Series MVP is playing at a high level under the radar but has begun to gain more attention in fantasy play. He’s tallied at least 10 DKFP in six of his last seven games and is batting .404 with three home runs and 13 RBIs on the year. If he continues to play at this level, he should return value with ease.

Second Base: Min Woo Park, NC Dinos ($4,100)

Everyone has been paying attention to the Dinos’ home run hitters, but Park has been a rock for the KBO’s first place team at the plate. He leads the team in hits (19), at-bats (44), and RBI’s (9). His upside is comparable to the more expensive options like Dixon Machado and Jose Fernandez.

Shortstop: Ha Seong Kim, Kiwoom Heroes ($4,700)

Kim has been in a slump but is coming off his best performance of the season. He went 3-f0r-6 with three RBIs to tally 19 fantasy points. I think the 24-year-old has a good chance to build momentum against the lowly SK Wyverns.

Third Base: Kyoung Min Hur, Bears ($2,700)

Hur has eclipsed 130 hits in each of his last two seasons and is on pace to have another strong year. He’s tallied more than 20 DKFP in two of his last three games and has only struck out twice in 47 art-bats. His .319 batting average shows that he can be an impact player at the plate.

Outfield: Aaron Altherr, NC Dinos ($5,700)

Altherr hasn’t been great since he suffered a hand injury earlier this year, but tallied his second multi-hit game of the season Sunday by going 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs against the SK Wyverns. This could be a sign that he’s ready to turn things around and become the top-notch batter many think he can be in the KBO.

Outfield: Preston Tucker, Kia Tigers ($5,900)

Tucker leads the league in RBIs (20) and is tied for the lead in home runs. He’s been producing at a high level when he’s not hitting the ball deep as well though. He’s reach double-digits in fantasy points in six of his last seven appearances. His .444 batting average is second to only Jose Fernandez’ mark of .479.
