Tiger, Manning favored and getting the money vs. Phil, Brady

The Match is set for this Sunday, featuring Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning vs. Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady. We break down how to watch, and where betting stands on the match play event.

This past Sunday, we got to watch Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson claim a closest-to-the-tee playoff victory against Rickie Fowler and Matthew Wolff in Skins Game for charity. The foursome helped raised over $4 million for Covid-19 relief efforts and got to shake off some competitive rust in advance of the PGA Tour’s June restart.

That was also the appetizer for Memorial Day weekend. This coming Sunday, May 24th, we get to see Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning square off against Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady, once again raising money for coronavirus relief efforts. They’ll be raising at least $10 million with their matchup at Medalist Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Florida. The contest will get underway Sunday at 3 p.m. ET. Turner Sports will broadcast the event across TNT, TBS, truTV and HLN.

The contest will be a match play format. The front nine will feature a Four Ball (Best Ball) format, and the back nine will feature a Modified Alternate Shot format. There will also be various on-course challenges to raise charitable funds.

Woods and Manning opened as -200 favorites, while Mickelson and Brady were listed at +150. Early betting last week saw money on the underdogs, with 52 percent of handle and 55 percent of total bets on Mickelson and Brady. Now that we’re into match week, we’ve got a split across the pair of twosomes. 53 percent of handle is on Woods and Manning, while 54 percent of bets are on Mickelson and Brady.

We’ve seen some line movement for the favorites. Woods and Manning are now -225 while Mickelson and Brady are +180.
