Best, sleeper options to consider for NASCAR DFS at Darlington on DraftKings

NASCAR returns to The Lady in Black in the first of what will be a sprint of many races over the next few weeks following the coronavirus suspension of the season

NASCAR is back today and heading to The Track Too Tough to Tame at Darlington Raceway for the Real Heroes 400. You can enter today’s contests here.

There’s live scoring for all NASCAR races at DK, and each DFS entry will have you build a $50,000 team using a six-racer field. Each driver will gain or lose a point for place differential from their starting position, get 0.5 points each time they finish with the fastest lap, and receive 0.25 points for each lap they lead. Also the winning driver will receive 46 points, all the way down to 4 points for finishing in 40th for last place.

So let’s make best bets and sleeper options for today’s 3:30 p.m. ET race.

Best Bets

Brad Keselowski ($10,400)

Finished first and fifth in two races here last year, and thanks to a random draw on Thursday night will start on the pole today. That doesn’t help much for place points, but does it ever for laps led and final position. He’s a very good bet at $10,400

Chase Elliott ($9,800)

Runs well at Darlington (started 19th and finished eighth last time, and led nine laps), and has plenty of gas in the tank despite being a Hendrick driver. Enough value here he should be in the Top 3 on your board.

Sleeper Picks

Matt DiBendetto ($7,500)

Has run better this season with four Top 20’s, and has been able to settle into a nice groove. Plus he’ll have a chance to stay out of trouble to start when beginning in the #3 hole today. It’s been a few since these guys have been behind the wheel, and there’s been no practice or qualifying. We’d like to go with guys that can avoid the dustups today if possible.

Aric Almirola ($7700)

Had back-to-back Top 10’s before the season stopped, and though he hasn’t had much success at Darlington, he did finish 12th here in 2018. He’s also starting in the #5 hole today, so again another driver that might be able to stay clear of a wreck early because of rusty competitors.
