Captain’s Picks
Mike Gesicki ($11,400)
There’s almost nobody that stands out in this entire contest. It could be an absolute snoozefest. So with that mind, it might be best to go with chalk. The QBs will be trendy but I like Gesicki the most. He’s got back-to-back games of 100+ yards and 14 catches over that span. The Bills defense is a tough matchup but really the floor for Gesicki is 40-50 yards and a TD in most cases.
Robert Foster ($5,100)
Lineup construction won’t be easy in this one. You may need to leave some salary on the table if you don’t like either QB plays. So I’m OK using Foster in the Captain’s spot to fit in all the high-priced guys. In my eyes this one plays out one of two ways: Chalk City or no scoring. Foster doesn’t have much of a ceiling in sims though he does have a 15.4-point outing to his name recently. The Dolphins defense is underwhelming, so Foster is a cheap WR play with some upside.
FLEX Men
Devin Singletary ($8,800)
Again, if it’s low scoring then I like the floor for RBs. Singletary hasn’t been all that incredible in simulations for the Bills. He’s only average 8.7 fantasy points per sim and has one game of 15+ fantasy points. I like Singletary’s usage in the passing game a bit. That should elevate his floor enough to make this price OK. If he pops off at lowish ownership then perfect. The guys who are going to be the most involved in this game are the plays who will return value.
Patrick Laird ($2,000)
Laird was a folk hero of sorts at the end of the season for the Dolphins. He’s continued that legacy a bit in sim land. Laird is coming off a 13.3-point performance, including a TD on two catches. He’s involved enough in the passing game and actually get some looks in the red zone, so the TD upside is there. He’s got four teeders in 13 sims, which is respectable for a guy priced at $2K.
