Best lineup strategy for Korean baseball DFS May 16th

The KBO’s kicking off the weekend with a five-game slate on Saturday, and DraftKings will have classic contests available. We break down some ideal picks at each position below. You can set your lineup here.

Pitcher: Young Gyu Kim, NC Dinos ($6,200)

Kim is the cheapest starter in the slate but is a promising young pitcher that finished last season with five wins and four losses. The 20-year-old had an O.K. debut against the LG Twins but will face an SK Wyverns team that’s last in runs and hits in the KBO. He should post a respectable stat line in a slate that doesn’t have a ton of studs.

Catcher: Sung Woo Jang, KT Wiz ($3,200)

Jang is a good value play with a solid ceiling. It’s hard to find consistency at catcher with the Dinos’ Eui Ji Yang having a slow year, but Jang has reached at least 19 DKFP in three games this year and has reached double digits four times. He’s batting .323 with two home runs and his 12 RBIs are top five in the KBO this season.

First Base: Jae Il Oh, Doosan Bears ($4,100)

Oh extended his streak of double-digit fantasy point games to five Friday by going 2-for-5 with two RBIs. His price hasn’t caught up with his value yet and he’s cracking the top five in several statistical categories — including hits, home runs, batting average, and RBIs.

Second Base: Jose Fernandez, Doosan Bears ($6,300)

Fernandez put together another strong stat line on Friday by tallying three hits and two RBIs. He’s batting .529 with two home runs and nine RBIs and tallied 19 DKFP in two straight game and has continued be one of the best batters in the KBO and is worth paying up for more often than not.

Shortstop: Jin Hyuk No, NC Dinos ($3,400)

No has typically not been listed as a shortstop, but has recently acquired the designation. Dixon Macahdo ($5,600) will be a popular and pricy play, No gives you more value. Don’t let a bad stretch of three games stop you from playing him. He’s been one of the KBO’s more consistent batters across all positions so far.

Third Base: Chan Ho Park, Kia Tigers ($4,200)

There’s no clear-cut stud at third base, but Park is an interesting value play that’s starting to figure things out. Last year’s steals leaders has tallied 12 fantasy points in two of his last three games, but has seen his price drop. He’s reached double-digits four times in 10 games.

Outfield: Mel Rojas Jr., KT Wiz ($6,200)

Rojas’ price has gone up despite being streaky at the plate, but he tallied 23 fantasy points Friday after notching two hits and a home run. His batting average (.462) is high, so he has value even when his not displaying the power hitting that makes him such a popular play.

Outfield: Preston Tucker, Kia Tigers ($5,200)

Tucker has tallied at least 10 fantasy points in four of his last five outings and is toward the top of the KBO in batting average (.417), home runs (3), and RBIs (12).
