UPDATED ODDS, BETTING SPLITS FOR OVEREEM-HARRIS
In a main event battle of heavyweights that will have major implications on the division, Alistair Overeem will face Walt Harris as the featured fight for UFC Fight Night Jacksonville on May 16th, live from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena along Florida’s First Coast.
Overeem turns 40 the day after the fight, and has been fighting in MMA since his 2002 debut in the now-defunct PRIDE promotion. In his first UFC fight he defeated future UFC and WWE Champion Brock Lesnar in December of 2011. His 45-18 record is a testament to his staying power in the sport, though he has never been the champion. He’s currently ranked #8 amongst heavyweights, though he fell to Jairzinho Rozenstruik with just four seconds remaining his last time out after he got caught in a controversial stoppage.
Harris is 36 years of age, and once played college basketball for the Jacksonville State Gamecocks. He’s got a 13-7 record in MMA, and first joined the UFC after fighting in The Ultimate Fighter in 2013. His stoppage of Aleksei Oleinik in 12 seconds in July of last year is part of the reason he’s ranked #9 in the division entering this fight.
Here are the betting odds at DraftKings Sportsbook for Alistair Overeem vs. Walt Harris at UFC on ESPN on May 16th:
Money line odds
Alistair Overeem: +130
