Updated Smith-Teixeira odds, betting splits
The main event for UFC Jacksonville sees Anthony Smith takes on Glover Teixeira in a battle of Top 10 contenders in the light heavyweight division on Wednesday, May 13th at the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena.
Smith is the #4 ranked contender in the division, with an active record of 31-14 despite being only 31 years of age. He lost a title shot to Jon “Bones” Jones in 2019 by decision in his only attempt at becoming a champion. He has won seven of his last nine fights however, and has been in the UFC since 2013.
Teixeira is now 40 years old while also the #8 ranked light heavyweight in UFC. He’s 30-7 in an underrated career, and also has lost to Jones for the gold, but did so six years ago. He’s 8-4 since that defeat, and a win here is imperative if he’s to ever get another shot at being a UFC champion.
