The Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys will face off in a Madden sim Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET. The sim will be set to include rain, as opposed to the normal sunny conditions. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.

Captain’s Picks

Dak Prescott ($15,600)

There once was a color commentator who told you to fade Dak Prescott against the New York Giants in a Showdown simulation. Prescott proceeded to go for nearly 40 fantasy points with 310 total yards and four TDs. I won’t make the same mistake again. Prescott is going to cost a lot at Captain, but after seeing his rushing upside — which is 100+ — I think he’s the best play.

T.J. Hockenson ($9,600)

You can tell a lot by simply sorting the contest by FPPG and seeing who sticks out. Hockenson is a bit underpriced for his production and could go under the radar at Captain. In fact, his ownership at Captain should be pretty low. Hock has a TD in back-to-back sims, including 12 catches for 135 yards and a score against the Jets. I don’t know if we see a game like that again but crazier things have happened.

Ezekiel Elliott ($9,800)

Zeke is still underpriced at RB in Showdowns and I don’t like the disrespect. He’s coming off a 22.9-point game against the Giants, hitting the 100-yard bonus for the first time in six sims. We’ve seen workhorse backs get a ton of touches in Madden, so Elliott probably gets around 15-20 touches. Multiple touchdowns makes him a solid overall play. I don’t mind captaining Zeke either.

Matt Prater ($3,800)

Believe it or not Big Foot Matt Prater has double-digit fantasy points in — checks sheet — THREE STRAIGHT GAMES. A kicker in Madden is absolutely crushing it and it’s Prater. I mean, he’s already averaging over 2x his salary in fantasy points at 7.9 per sim. The Cowboys defense is pretty decent and the Lions D line can apply pressure. If this game is a defensive struggle, Prater would be a good leverage play.
