Updated Simon-Borg odds, betting splits
A bantamweight battle between two fighters looking to get back to the top of the rankings is scheduled for the main card at UFC Jacksonville on May 13, with Ricky Simon taking on Ray Borg at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.
Simon is 15-3 in his MMA career, but his last two outings were losses. Urijah Faber knocked him out in the first round last July, and he fell in a decision to to Rob Font last December. He has won 53% of his fights by decision, and leans towards being a grappler as he averages 4.33 takedowns every 15 minutes in the cage.
Borg enters with one of the best nicknames in UFC, “The Tazmexican Devil.” He’s 13-4 as a cage-fighter, with a 7-4 record in UFC that includes two decision wins in his last two outing against Gabriel Silva and Rogerio Bontorin. He fought Demetrious Johnson for the flyweight championship in 2017, but was submitted by armbar in his only shot at UFC gold.
