We’re in the second week of the 2020 KBO season. Five games are scheduled to take place on Tuesday, and ESPN2 will be airing a matchup between the KT Wiz and NC Dinos. We break down the top picks for a Showdown contest centered around the game on DraftKings, and you can set your lineup here.
Captain’s Picks
Drew Rucinski, SP, NC Dinos: $16,500
Pitchers have a ton of upside and Rucinski is among the league leaders in DKFP per game (25.3). He only allowed three hits and tallied six strikeouts in his first start of the season. He seems like a safer option than Odrisamer Despaigne because of the Dinos’ reputation for power hitting at the plate.
Jin Hyuk No, 2B/3B, KT Wiz: $8,700
No might not have very gaudy numbers, but he’s been one of the Dinos’ most consistent players. He’s averaged 14.5 DKFP since going scoreless in the season opener and has tallied two home runs with six RBI.s while batting .333. His 1.095 OPS is indicative of his offensive impact, and he could help you execute a desirable Dinos stack.
Utility Picks
Aaron Altherr, OF, NC Dinos: $9,400
Altherr has returned from a hand injury he suffered early on in the season and still has the home run power that makes him so dangerous. He’s a pricier flex option, but is worth the risk because of his ability to hit bombs. His power comes with the potential to score runs himself and bat them in.
Mel Rojas Jr., OF, KT Wiz: $9,000
Rojas is batting .455 and has gotten to showcase some of the power that helped him eclipse 20 home runs in each of his last two KBO seasons. He might be his team’s most dangerous player at the plate, so it makes since to roster him in a utility spot.
Jin Sung Kang, C, NC Dinos: $4,800
Eu Ji Yang is the Dinos’ starter and one of the best batters in the KBO, but was pulled from his team’s game Sunday for a pinch runner after dealing with some hamstring pain. Kang is batting 1.000 and has hit a home run in each of his two at-bats this season. We could see him back in the batting order if Yang can’t go, and his production so far shows that he can get the job done when given a chance. Yang’s condition will be something to monitor.
