Best lineup strategy for Nuggets vs. Magic NBA simulation Showdown

The featured simulated basketball contest on DraftKings for Wednesday afternoon is between the Denver Nuggets and Orlando Magic. Here, we’ll go over how to approach lineup construction for the fantasy basketball contest.

Captain’s Picks

Nikola Vucevic ($14,400)

The Vuce is loose! Vucevic I like at Captain a little bit more than Nikola Jokic ($15,900), only because of the price difference. Vucevic’s ceiling is a bit lower and his floor is a bit lower, but really we’re getting similar players at different prices. Well, similar in terms of fantasy basketball production. There isn’t much upside in this contest, so you’re likely going with Vuce and Joker in your lineup anyway.

FLEX Options

Jonathan Isaac ($4,200)

For the 32 games Isaac played this season, he was starting and playing big minutes for the Magic as a defensive stopper. That doesn’t mean he’s useless in fantasy basketball. This price is pretty low and Isaac has plenty of 20+ point and double-double box scores in those 32. The lack of variance in what we’re getting coupled with this price point makes Isaac pretty chalky.

Jerami Grant ($6,200)

Grant has started of third of his 64 games this season for the Nuggets. He’s posted decent stats, putting up plenty of upside games of 20+ points to make this price pretty decent. There aren’t many appealing fantasy plays in this contest overall since it’s two mediocre offenses in a simulation format. From January through February, Grant was averaging over 30 minutes per contest for Denver.
