Captain’s Picks
Alshon Jeffery ($13,500)
Top WRs are normally good choices for the Captain in these Madden simulation Showdowns. Jeffery is one of those top WRs, though the Eagles passing attack isn’t putting up crazy numbers. Jeffery has at least a TD in three of four games with three receptions or more in four straight. There are a lot of appealing wideouts between the Eagles and Rams, but Alshon appears to be the most balanced play.
Miles Sanders ($9,600)
Sanders leads this entire contest in fantasy points per game at 16 so far through seven simulation contests. He’s coming off two monster games, combining for three TDs and 184 yards, including five receptions. Sanders is incredibly cheap for this type of production, though he’s the more chalky pick. The ownership will be high, but so will Sanders’ ceiling.
FLEX Men
Zach Ertz ($8,200)
I love targeting tight ends in these contests and Ertz is one of the elite TEs in the NFL. He’s been a bit scattered in his production so far in simulation land. Ertz has had ceiling games like six catches for 100 yards and two TDs. He’s also put up three catches for 32 yards. Still, I like his ceiling here and he is a bit cheaper than some of the top WR1s.
Nelson Agholor ($4,400)
Cheap. Wide. Receivers. Agholor is the perfect flex option at this price. He’s been very consistent in these simulations with at least four receptions in each of the past five games. That’s double-digit fantasy points in each of those games. Agholor is more of a safety net for QB Carson Wentz in Madden as opposed to a black sheep in real life.
