The New York Jets and Los Angeles Chargers will face off in Thursday’s third and final Madden 20 sim at 8:00 p.m. ET. DraftKings will have a DFS contest going for the game, and break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the matchup, which you can play here.
Keenan Allen, WR, Chargers ($16,500)
Allen is one of the few wideouts I’d lean on as a captain. He has great speed and is also an elite route runner. He has one of the best releases in the game and has a good chance to find himself open frequently against the Jets’ secondary. He shouldn’t be matched up against Jamal Adams too often.
Le’Veon Bell, RB, Jets ($14,100)
Bell and Allen are the two highest rated offensive players in this game. I think the Chargers’ pass rush and secondary could make things hard on Sam Darnold. That could make Bell’s elusiveness and the ground game more important for New York than finding success through the air.
Austin Ekeler, RB, Chargers ($3,200)
Ekeler’s 83 overall rating is only one point less than Melvin Gordon’s mark of 84. Backup running backs have done surprisingly well in sims so far, and Ekeler might only be second to the Cleveland Browns’ Kareem Hunt in that category. He’s cheaper than Gordon, faster, and more versatile. He might even be worth making risky captain’s pick.
Jamison Crowder, WR, Jets ($5,600)
Los Angeles has a solid secondary, which makes me hesitant to spend a ton of salary on Robby Anderson in a flex or captain spot. Few WR1s have been worth their prices, so I’d opt for Crowder here. He’s not as speedy, but can be just as effective against lesser defensive backs.
