Best lineup strategy for Knicks vs. Bulls NBA simulation Showdown

We go over lineup construction for Saturday afternoon’s simulated basketball contest between New York and Chicago.

There’s just one way to get your daily fantasy basketball fix and it’s with DraftKings simulated basketball contest. Over the weekend, DK will be offering contests each day and Saturday afternoon we get the New York Knicks vs. the Chicago Bulls in a classic matchup. Here’s a link to the contest and be sure to check out the rules before entering a lineup.

Captain’s Picks

If this were a normal Showdown contest, I’d be doing something dumb like Captaining Bobby Portis in the revenge spot. Unfortunately, we can’t pull stunts like that in this format. Lauri Markkanen is an easy fade at $14,100. He was having a miserable season to begin with and injuries held him back. Coby White ($12,900) is an intriguing play. The rookie had been playing out of his mind before the break. White had at least 20 points in eight of nine games, and won Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for February. White is a risky DFS play but could end up paying off big in the Captain spot.

FLEX Options

Zach LaVine ($11,200) and Julius Randle ($10,000) are your top options and I think you need to play at least one, if not both of them. Other than LaVine, Randle and White, there’s very little upside in this contest. If we want to try and go that route and fit all three of them in, we need value.

A couple of strong values on each side: Reggie Bullock ($1,800) and Chandler Hutchison ($1,400). Bullock has played 29 game this season and 19 have been starts. That’s a good ratio and at this price Bullock doesn’t need much to hit salary value. Hutchison is similar thinking. He has 10 starts in 28 games this season and most of those box scores pay off huge at this salary.
