The Showcase of The Immortals is here, and even if it feels a bit different in 2020, it’s still going to be a jam-packed card for WrestleMania this weekend.
WrestleMania 36 will take place Saturday night and Sunday night, April 4th and 5th, live on the WWE Network. And DraftKings presents the 2020 WrestleMania Challenge, where your picks on what will happen during the longest ‘Mania in history can win you part of a $5,000 prize pool.
There are 12 questions in the contest, and here’s one man’s picks for the first two-night ‘Mania in WWE history. Though the entrances and crowd pops might not be the same, there should still be plenty of terrific action live from the Performance Center in Orlando.
What will be the first match of the historic two-night WrestleMania 36?
- SmackDown Women’s Championship
- NXT Women’s Championship
- Intercontinental Championship
- Raw Women’s Championship
- Other
We’ll go with other here, as you usually want a big match to lift the lid on the show. The three-way SmackDown tag-team championship match between The Miz & Morrison vs. The New Day vs. The Uso’s is a good one to start the show with, so we think it starts there.
How many times will Brock Lesnar suplex Drew McIntyre?
- 0 to 2
- 3 to 5
- 6 to 9
- 10+
Brock has certainly over-suplexed huge Superstars before, but we don’t think he squashes The Scottish Psychopath quite that badly. We’ll go with 6-9 here, as 10+ is saved for a Reigns-style beatdown.
Will any WWE Superstar incorporate a motor vehicle into their WrestleMania entrance?
- Yes
- No
Either The Undertaker or AJ Styles are rolling up into whatever a Boneyard Match is in anything from a Hearse to a Harley-Davidson. Book it.
How many times will an announcer table be broken?
- 0
- 1
- 2
- 3+
Since there’s only one announce table instead of the multiple around the ring due to social distancing, we think Michael Cole does that weird thing where he stands up and says stuff with no desk a maximum of twice.
Will all three (3) Women’s Champions successfully defend their Raw, NXT and SmackDown Championships?
- Yes
- No
We think the Queen of Spades beats Becky, Charlotte isn’t quite ready to start dropping matches to Rhea Ripley, and Bayley needs to beat four other opponents to retain. At least one of those three falls, and possibly all of them.
Will “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt use the Mandible Claw on John Cena?
- Yes
- No
If anything, do it as a Mankind tribute. Maybe the Fire Fly Funhouse will have Mr. Socko?
The final outcome of the SmackDown Women’s Championship match will be determined by:
- Pinfall
- Submission
- Disqualification
- Other
Lotta ways this could happen, but a Bank Statement might be the most interesting. If Sasha Banks beats her best friend Bayley, it’s probably with her signature move.
Will Becky Lynch retain the Raw Women’s Championship?
- Yes
- No
I was leaning the other way here, but got talked out of it on one of our podcasts last week. Shayna Baszler wins, and watching Becky start to fight back will be really fun.
Will the number of matches determined by submission be over or under 2 ½?
- Over
- Under
If you’re going to beat someone at WrestleMania, beat them in style. And there’s no fancier way to win than a tap out in the center of the ring.
How many TOTAL spears will be performed in the Universal Championship match?
- 0 to 2
- 3 to 4
- 5 to 6
- 7+
A more interesting question might be how many times can 53-year-old Goldberg Jackknife Powerbomb the massive Braun Strowman? But we’ll say 3-4 spears here.
Drag & Drop to rank these matches in the order that they will occur.
- SmackDown Women’s Championship
- Universal Championship
- Raw Women’s Championship
- WWE Championship
Don’t feel great about this one, but we’ll see how they do it here.
What will be the total time of the UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH (bell to bell) in minutes and seconds?
- 10 minutes 39 seconds
Goldberg and Braun Strowman won’t be going for that long. It’s not like Bill has monster-long matches, but with another huge monster there might be more rest time. And they’ll for sure hit the outside of the ring at some point, and someone is going through a table. We’ll go with 10 minutes and 39 seconds which seems arbitrary and absolutely the right time.
