Tight end dynasty rankings for 2020 fantasy football

Tight ends have big upside if you can catch that breakout player. Who has the most dynasty upside heading into the 2020 season?

The NFL Draft is over, so it’s time to reevaluate our fantasy football tight end dynasty rankings . . . . ok, done. There weren’t any tight ends in this draft who will make an immediate impact and the players who will eventually make big fantasy impacts aren’t obvious.

A down year for tight ends in the draft is a good year for tight ends drafted the season before, which was a good year for tight ends. Players like T.J. Hockenson, Noah Fant, Jace Sternberger, Irv Smith Jr., Dawson Knox, Kahale Warring and Josh Oliver all could have gone ahead of Cole Kmet in this year’s draft. And the fact that each of these tight ends, like most tight ends, had slow starts to their careers, makes them value picks in any dynasty start up this season.

Your top tight ends remain the same, with Travis Kelce and George Kittle secure in the top two spots and the top seven are all players with good consistency and upside. After that it is tough to go all in on any of the tight ends out there. That is why the Kelces and Kittles of the league are in high demand in dynasty leagues. You don’t need to have them to win, but somehow getting a tight end that will consistently give you fantasy points makes it easier to focus on making the right moves to keep your running backs and wide receivers in good order.
