The NASCAR Cup Series remains postponed indefinitely amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, but iRacing has became a popular replacement option. The series has held four races so far, and they have proven to be quite popular for FOX to fill air time on Sunday afternoons during the crisis.
This week the series heads to Talladega Superspeedway for the Geico 70. Racing starts at 1 p.m. ET and will air on FOX, FS1, and the FOX Sports App. You should also be able to stream the race at FOX Sports’ live stream site.
The race will be just 70 laps instead of the usual 188, and the 38-car starting lineup will be determined by a qualifying session except for the top three drivers. Due to a rules change from NASCAR this week William Byron, Timmy Hill, and Parker Kligerman will start at the back of the field due to their podium finishes last week at Richmond.
Byron is the favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook due to his experience in iRacing and his dominance in winning the last two races. You can also find some sleeper betting value in Jeff Gordon and Kligerman. Gordon is coming out of retirement to give this virtual racing a try, and is doing so at a track where he has six career wins on the actual asphalt.
You can also play iRacing DFS at DraftKings. Best bet sleepers make sense here, and also consider Erik Jones as an additional value.
