The New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers play in a Madden Thursday. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest centered around the contest below. You can set your lineup on DraftKings before kickoff.
Captain’s Picks
Aaron Rodgers, QB, Packers ($16,200)
Rodgers is a threat to have a big game regardless of who he’s up against. He’s a video game legend and can make use of all of his receivers effectively. A WR3 of WR4 is bound to get some chunk yardage when Rodgers can’t find Davante Adams. Rodgers can extend the play by buying time in the pocket and can still tuck it and run as well.
Michael Thomas, WR, Saints ($15,300)
Thomas is the best of the best, has been somewhat hit or miss so far. He scored less than 10 DKFP in his first three sims but tallied at least 23 in each of his last two contests. Who he’s matched up against won’t be much of a factor. You really just have to bank on Thomas getting a solid amount of targets from Drew Brews. If that happens, he can produce at a high level.
Flex Men
Aaron Jones, RB, Packers ($8,000)
Jones has a solid set of hands and doesn’t have a backup who can challenge him for touches. The Packers’ lack of wide receiver depth could help Jones gain PPR points early.
Jared Cook, TE, Saints ($7,400)
Brees has quite a few quality targets. Cook is second to only Thomas when it comes to downfield passing though. Alvin Kamara is more expensive, but Cook has been one of the more consistent running backs we’ve seen.
